Overview

Home and Portfolio help you understand account state, positions, buying power, margin, and P&L. The exact fields may vary by account, permissions, and product configuration.

Common fields:

Field General meaning
Net equity Overall account equity based on account assets and liabilities.
Cash Cash shown in the account.
Long market value Value of long positions.
Short market value Value of short positions.
Avg. Entry Average entry cost for a position, when available. This is a single average-cost figure, not a tax-lot breakdown.
Buying power Estimated purchasing capacity under current account and margin rules.
Maintenance margin Margin required to maintain existing positions.
Margin excess Equity above maintenance requirements.
Margin utilization How much of available margin capacity is being used.
Realized P&L Profit or loss from closed activity, when available.
Unrealized P&L Profit or loss on open positions, when available.

These fields are informational and may update as market prices, orders, positions, deposits, withdrawals, and risk settings change.

Cost basis and tax lots

The Positions section shows an average-cost value, Avg. Entry, for each position. The platform doesn't show individual tax lots, and you can't pick specific lots to sell when you place an order.

For questions about your cost-basis method or a tax election, such as mark-to-market treatment, contact Support.

How to contact Support

Submit a support ticket or use live chat in the app if:

  • A balance, position, margin value, or P&L value appears wrong.
  • Buying power changes unexpectedly.
  • You need help with cost basis or an account-specific tax reporting question.
  • You need to ask about a tax election or mark-to-market-related request.
  • The account shows a margin call, restriction, liquidation, or other risk event.
  • You need an account-specific explanation.

Put what you’ve learned to work

The best investors don't wait for permission. They do their own work, take responsibility for their decisions and put their capital behind their conviction.
