Overview

Manage funding through the Account area. Use this article as the starting point for deposit-related topics and links to the detailed articles for ACH, wire deposits, trading availability, and withdrawals.

Omni can guide you to the funding section and explain the general steps for funding your account. For account-specific problems or sensitive payment details, contact Support so our team can review securely.

Deposit methods

Clear Street supports two ways to deposit funds: ACH transfer through a linked bank account, or wire transfer. Debit and credit card deposits are not supported. Clear Street only accepts deposits in USD.

Link a bank account for ACH deposits

To link a bank account for ACH deposits, go to the Account area in the Clear Street platform, then select the Funding icon below Account. Choose the option to add or link a bank account, then follow the in-platform prompts to connect and verify the account.

For security, only link bank accounts through the authenticated Clear Street platform. Do not share bank account numbers, routing numbers, screenshots of banking credentials, or identity documents in regular chat messages unless Support provides a secure upload method.

ACH bank account verification

Bank account verification may be instant when the name on the bank account matches the name on your Clear Street account. If the names do not match, the automated check may reject the linked account.

A rejected link is not necessarily final. If you believe the bank account is legitimately yours, such as a joint account or another account you are authorized to use, contact Support. The team can review the issue securely and may ask for documentation, such as a bank statement, through an approved upload method.

Why the last 4 digits may not match your bank statement

Some banks, including Chase, PNC, and U.S. Bank, give Plaid a tokenized account number instead of your actual account number. A tokenized number is a secure substitute that works for ACH transfers, so your deposits and withdrawals still move to and from your real bank account.

Because it's a substitute, the last 4 digits shown for that linked account in Clear Street won't match the last 4 digits on your bank statement. This is standard for any app that connects to these banks through Plaid. It doesn't mean the wrong account was linked.

If you have more than one linked bank account and aren't sure which is which, contact Support so we can review the linked accounts securely. Do not share full bank account or routing numbers in regular chat.

Funding by wire transfer

Your account-specific incoming wire instructions are shown in-platform under Funding → Send a wire transfer. For the full incoming wire deposit instructions, see 📄 How to Fund Your Account via Wire Transfer.

If a wire has been sent but has not appeared, check with the sending bank for its wire status and contact Support if you need Clear Street to review the deposit.

Deposit timing

  • Wires: wires received before 3:00 PM ET are typically credited the same business day. Wires received after 3:00 PM ET are typically credited the next business day.
  • ACH: ACH deposits submitted by 2:00 PM ET are typically available to trade the next business day, but may be subject to a hold of up to 3 business days. ACH deposits submitted after 2:00 PM ET may take an additional business day.
