Overview

You can wire money into your Clear Street account from a bank account in your name. Clear Street does not currently charge a fee for incoming wires. Your sending bank may charge its own wire fee.

How to wire in

  1. In the Clear Street platform, go to Account → Funding.
  2. Select Send a wire transfer.
  3. Give your bank the wire instructions shown on screen. They include the reference details that tell us which account to credit.

Keep in mind: Check the amount and instructions before your bank sends the wire. A wire can't be canceled once it's sent.

Note: The sending account must be in the same name as your Clear Street account. Wires from someone else's account are returned.

About "FBO" and "For further credit"

Your wire instructions may say FBO ("for the benefit of") or For further credit. Both mean the same thing here: they tell us which Clear Street account to credit. They don't mean an intermediary bank is involved. Enter your full name and Clear Street account number in your bank's memo, reference, or "for further credit" field, exactly as shown in your instructions.

Wire transfer cutoff times

Incoming wire transfers received before 3:00 PM ET are typically credited the same business day. Wires received after 3:00 PM ET are typically credited the next business day.
