Overview

When deposits become available

Deposits may appear in your account balance soon after they are initiated, but funds can't be used to place trades until they have cleared. When your funds become available depends on how you deposit.

Wire deposits

Incoming wires received before 3:00 PM ET are typically credited to your account the same business day. Wires received after 3:00 PM ET are typically credited the next business day.

ACH deposits

ACH deposits submitted by 2:00 PM ET are typically available to trade the next business day, but may be subject to a hold of up to 3 business days. ACH deposits submitted after 2:00 PM ET may take an additional business day.

Why timing can vary

Deposit availability can depend on the deposit method, bank processing timelines, and Clear Street's review and posting process. Deposits are processed in batches rather than continuously throughout the day, so a cleared deposit may not update buying power at the moment it is received.

Your buying power also depends on your current positions, so it may not rise by the full amount of a deposit.

Weekends and market holidays can also affect timing. If a deposit is initiated, received, or expected to clear around a weekend or market holiday, the next eligible processing or trading day may be later than a normal weekday.

When to contact Support

If your deposit has cleared but buying power has not updated after the next eligible processing day, contact Support through the Clear Street platform for review.
